Ministry of education and sports
The mandate of the Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES) is to provide quality Education and sports services in the country, which are constitutional obligations for the Ugandan State and Government therefore,The Mission of the MoES is "to provide technical support, guide, coordinate, regulate and promote quality education, training and sports to all persons in Uganda for national integration, development and individual advancement."
Uganda National Examination Board(UNEB)
This is a body mandated as the national assessment body in Uganda. UNEB is managed by a Secretariat headed by the Executive Secretary who is the Chief Executive and the Accounting Officer of the Board.There are seven departments each headed by a Deputy Secretary. We boast of a long history of conducting reputable examinations since 1983. Manned by a team of long serving, committed and experienced examiners, UNEB has confidentiality and quality on top of its priorities.
The National Curriculum Development Centre
The National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC) is a corporate autonomous statutory body/agency under the Ministry of Education and Sports (MoE&S) responsible for the development of educational curricula for primary, secondary and some tertiary institutions in Uganda. Its functions include, inter alia, initiating processes for curricula research, review and/or reform, updating, testing and coordinating the implementation of educational curricula at all levels of learning (Primary, Secondary and Tertiary) as well as promulgation of guidance for the implementation of improved educational curricula and pedagogy.
Uganda National Council for Higher Education
The National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) was established to implement the University and Other Tertiary Act of Parliament (2001) as the regulator of higher education.
The Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board
The Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board (UBTEB) is a statutory national assessment body established by an Act of Parliament and mandated to streamline, regulate, coordinate and conduct credible national examinations and award Certificates and Diplomas in the Business, Technical and Vocational professions in Uganda.
